WordPress HLUG website

  • In 2014 HLUG (Hereford Linux (and Open Source) User Group) upgraded to WordPress, open source blog software from www.wordpress.org
  • The WordPress Theme used is Twenty Fourteen which is responsive and has good menus
  • WordPress Plugins used include: Akismet, and WordPress Database Backup,
  • http://codex.wordpress.org/ is the WordPress Codex, the online manual for WordPress and a living repository for WordPress information and documentation.
  • twentyfourteen-screenshot But the Twenty Fourteen theme is not ideal, this is a theme designed for magazines with 6 big pictures at the top (which have been disabled here by having no sticky posts)
  • A better theme would perhaps show the first 100 words of each recent post, and be responsive, and be actively maintained by its authors.
